Motorcycle tales from four corners of the kingdom.

Welcome to Superbike Island…

This is a passion project. A love letter to motorcycling formed over forty years. The ambition is to develop and evolve a modest online fanzine where features, articles and blogs are created and shared that celebrate the past, present and future of the bike scene in the United Kingdom.

There is nothing objective to be found here; no machine tests, product recommendations, banner ads or sponsors to please. Just pure obsession with the ‘why?’ rather than the ‘what?’

There are also, unashamedly, personal chronicles to be recounted and examined. Bikes, rides and a family history spent - and misspent - spanning four generations.

New stories will emerge over weeks and months, with the promise of a long awaited two-wheeled exploration of the boundaries and coastal extremities of this island nation. The hope is that this may also initiate human interest, rather than simply the singularity of motorcycling.

The twin forms of content to be discovered here are photography and the written word but there is also an invitation to explore and follow the various forms of linked social media to interact, share and participate in other ways. There are buttons at the foot of each page to encourage this. With community at the heart of the biking spirit, what is there to lose?
